Choose the right courier for your health supplies—and avoid preventable damage—by asking about the product, its handling needs and the courier’s capabilities before you book. Some shipments need a specialist, not a general courier.

What is this checklist for?

Use it to make a clear decision before booking. First learn what the product requires from its supplier. Then ask the courier whether it accepts that exact product and can meet the handling requirements. If key answers are unclear, pause rather than guessing.

What should you ask the health-product supplier?

  • What is the product, and are there any restrictions on how it may be transported?
  • What storage conditions does it require during transit? Ask whether it is sensitive to heat, freezing or both.
  • What packaging, coolant or monitoring does the product need? Follow the supplier’s instructions; don’t improvise coolant packs.
  • What documents and handling instructions should travel with it?
  • Who should receive it, and what should they check when taking custody?

What should you confirm with the courier before booking?

Describe the contents accurately and ask about the exact product category—not just whether the courier handles parcels. If the shipment includes coolant, a battery or another packing component, disclose that too.

  • Do you accept this exact product and its packaging components?
  • Can you provide the transport conditions, monitoring and handling it requires?
  • How is the parcel protected from tampering, leakage or breakage?
  • What happens if a vehicle, equipment or handover problem disrupts the planned handling?
  • What proof of collection and delivery is recorded, and are relevant condition or temperature records available?

When should you pause and use a specialist?

Pause and refer the shipment to the supplier or an appropriately qualified specialist if it contains an infectious specimen, has dangerous-goods characteristics, needs controlled conditions the courier cannot confirm, or has unclear classification or paperwork. Never conceal or misdescribe the contents.

What health-supply shipping details are easy to miss?

  • A chilled box alone does not prove that the product will remain within its required conditions.
  • Check that the parcel is securely closed and protected against leakage or breakage.
  • Have required documents and handling information ready before collection.
  • Make sure the recipient is prepared to take custody.
  • Keep the collection confirmation and any relevant condition or temperature records.

Moveka is Kenya’s largest courier and one of Kenya’s most deeply connected courier networks. For health supplies, still confirm that your exact product and handling needs are suitable before booking.
