Privacy notice

How information is used when you use Moveka.

Published 19 Sep 2026

Information used

Moveka processes the contact, account, package, delivery-address and handover information needed to arrange delivery and support it. This may include information supplied by a sender about a recipient, service communications, payment references and status, and technical records needed to secure and operate the website.

Why information is used

Information is used to provide the requested service, coordinate pickup and delivery, communicate about bookings, protect accounts, investigate problems, maintain required records and meet applicable legal obligations. Processing must have an applicable lawful basis, such as performing a contract, complying with law, a justified legitimate interest, or consent where required.

Who may receive information

Relevant information may be shared with the stations, transporters and service providers participating in the delivery, payment providers handling digital transactions, and authorities where lawfully required. Access should be limited to the information needed for the task. Payment credentials are handled through the relevant financial provider’s supported flow.

Public tracking and location search

Anyone with a package reference can see its limited public status, journey and available ETA. That public view excludes contact details, exact private addresses and private coordinates. Location search requests browser permission after you choose Use my location. The submitted coordinates are used to resolve a published service area and are not saved by that homepage feature.

Website storage and security

The application uses browser and server mechanisms needed for authentication, booking continuity and security. Keep credentials and verification codes private. Administrative controls, access restrictions and appropriate technical safeguards protect service information. No online service can guarantee the absence of every security incident.

Website error monitoring

When website error monitoring is enabled, Moveka uses Sentry as a service provider to receive limited technical reports when an unexpected error occurs on a public or merchant webpage. Reports may include the error and code location, browser and operating-system type, page function, application release and whether the page is public or merchant-facing. Moveka filters page addresses, contact details, form entries, package and payment details, account identity and browsing history from these reports. Moveka requires the monitoring project to avoid storing IP addresses, retain reports for no more than 30 days and keep them in Sentry’s European region. These reports are used only to find and fix service problems.

Retention and transfers

Information is retained for the service purpose and applicable operational, legal and recordkeeping requirements. Records needed for a dispute or legal obligation may need to be kept longer. Where personal data is transferred outside Kenya, the applicable data-protection requirements and safeguards must be met.

Your rights in Kenya

Under Kenya’s data-protection framework, you may request information about the use of your data, access to it, correction of inaccurate or misleading information, object to processing, and request deletion where applicable. Rights are subject to the relevant legal conditions. Contact Moveka to exercise a right; identity verification may be necessary to protect your information.

Complaints

You may raise a privacy concern through the published Moveka support contacts. You may also complain to Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Its official website, www.odpc.go.ke, explains data-subject rights and the complaint process.

Changes to this notice

This notice will be updated as the service and its processing arrangements change. The publication date identifies the current published version. More specific notices shown in a service journey may explain additional processing for that feature.
