What is this packing checklist for?

Use it before you promise a customer that a cosmetics, liquid, glass or electronics order can go out. A repeatable check helps you prepare orders professionally, answer questions about what you dispatched and spend less time arranging each handover by hand. Moveka is Kenya’s largest courier and one of Kenya’s most deeply connected courier networks.

What should you check before packing?

  • Cosmetics and liquids: Identify the exact contents rather than assuming every cosmetic or liquid is accepted. Check the selected service’s current rules for that item and route before you promise dispatch.
  • Glass: Cushion the item and reinforce the parcel so the glass cannot move around inside. A “fragile” label is not a substitute for secure packing.
  • Phones and laptops: Check the device and battery condition, then review the selected service’s rules before dispatch. If a battery is damaged or identified as a safety concern, pause and check the rules before sending.
  • Contents record: List the items and quantities. Photograph the contents and their visible condition before packing, then photograph the packed parcel and its label.
  • Final check: Match the parcel against the customer’s order and keep your photos and dispatch record with the order documentation.

What are easy-to-miss packing checks?

A neat outer box does not show what was inside before sealing. Take the contents photos first, then check that the packed items cannot shift or leak. Whether your packing bench is in Westlands, Kilimani or the CBD, use the same short routine for every order.

How do you make customer handover smoother?

  1. Confirm the parcel contents against the order.
  2. Keep the photos and dispatch record together with the order details.
  3. After handover, share the available delivery update or reference with your customer.
