Right method, right item, no overpaying: choose how to send by matching the parcel to the handover your recipient can actually manage. Moveka is Kenya’s largest courier and one of Kenya’s most deeply connected courier networks.
Ready to compare the options and prices that apply to your parcel? Start on Send.
How do you choose between postal, courier, bus and freight?
Start with three things: what you are sending, how large and heavy it is once packed, and where the recipient needs to receive it. Then compare the whole handover—not just the transport charge. A station or post-office collection can mean extra travel for you or your recipient; an address delivery option may be more convenient, depending on what is available for your parcel.
Pick postal delivery if...
Pick postal delivery if the service’s collection arrangement suits both of you and the item fits its rules. Check whether the recipient should expect delivery to an address, a post box or another collection point. Confirm what identification or collection details they will need before you send.
Pick courier delivery if...
Pick a courier option when the recipient’s address is the handover you want to compare, or when you want to check available choices such as Moveka’s Express and Same-Day services. Confirm the delivery point and what happens if the recipient is unavailable. The Send page shows the options and prices that apply to your parcel.
Pick bus parcel delivery if...
Pick bus parcel delivery if both sender and recipient can manage the relevant stations and the provider’s handover process. Check the destination station, collection hours, identification requirements and what happens if the parcel is not collected. A station-to-station option can look convenient until you count the extra journeys.
Pick freight if the item is bulky, heavy or in several pieces
Pick freight when you are moving a large load, palletized goods or multiple pieces that may not suit a standard parcel option. Freight is not automatically cheaper: compare collection, handling and destination handover as well as transport. Share accurate piece counts and packed dimensions so you can compare like with like.
What should you compare besides the delivery charge?
- The recipient’s actual handover point: address, station, post office or another collection point.
- Any extra trip, collection effort or handling needed at either end.
- The packed weight and length, width and height. Large, light parcels may be assessed by size as well as actual weight.
- Whether the contents are allowed and whether fragile, sharp, liquid or powdery items need special handling.
- How tracking or proof of handover works, and what happens if collection or delivery is missed.
How do you prepare a parcel before asking for a quote?
Pack the item so it cannot shift inside a sturdy box, cushion vulnerable contents and reinforce the seams with suitable tape. Write the address clearly and include a second address label inside the parcel in case the outer label is damaged. Have the contents description, packed weight, dimensions, origin and destination details, recipient phone number and preferred handover method ready.
The next step: compare the options for your parcel
You know what you are sending, how it is packed and which handover works for your recipient. Now check the applicable Moveka options and prices on Send, and choose with the full journey in mind.
