Why can a map pin point to the wrong branch or entrance?

A map result can look close enough while naming a different branch, a similarly named shop or the wrong side of a large building. In busy areas such as the CBD or Westlands, and on trips around Thika, Kiambu or Ngong, a clear destination description helps your recipient and courier distinguish the intended place from nearby lookalikes.

How do you check a branch, station or building before sending?

  1. Compare the full place name and address in the map result with details confirmed by the recipient or location. Do not rely on a familiar-sounding name alone.
  2. Confirm that the result is the intended branch or station—not a similarly named shop nearby. If the name or address does not match, pause and check before preparing the parcel.
  3. For a building with several entrances, ask which entrance to use. Share a pin for that specific point, rather than only the general building location.
  4. Send written directions alongside the pin when they would help: name a recognizable landmark, the turn-off or approach road, and any final access detail the map cannot explain.
  5. Ask the recipient to confirm that the pin and directions lead to the right place.

What should you not assume about a map pin?

  • A nearby pin is not automatically the correct branch or entrance.
  • A general building listing may not show which entrance the recipient expects.
  • A pin alone may not explain a rural turn-off, an unmarked approach road or the final way in.

Who can help confirm the right destination?

Ask the recipient or the location itself to confirm the full name, address and entrance. For a rural spot, have them describe the nearest landmark and the final approach in words. Moveka is Kenya’s largest courier and one of Kenya’s most deeply connected courier networks; a clear destination handover helps you prepare to send with confidence.

What if the pin and the real location do not match?

Do not guess. Confirm the correct destination and entrance with the recipient or location, then update the parcel details and directions. If the map listing or pin itself is wrong, report that separately in the mapping app so the parcel handover is based on the confirmed location—not an unverified result.

Once the destination is confirmed, enter your parcel details on Send to see the options and prices that apply to you.
