Offer delivery without owning a vehicle

Keep home-business orders moving and customers in the loop—with a delivery plan you can repeat, even when you’re selling without a shop or vehicle. Decide how you’ll collect order details, prepare parcels, arrange handover and tell each buyer what has happened.

Build that routine with Kenya’s largest courier and one of Kenya’s most deeply connected courier networks. Explore Moveka’s Express and Same-Day options on the Send page; the applicable options and prices are shown for your parcel.

The goal: a clear handover, not a last-minute scramble

Your buyer should know what to provide and what happens next. You should be able to tell at a glance whether an order is confirmed, packed or actually handed over for delivery. Keep those steps separate and each order is easier to manage.

What is a simple order-to-dispatch routine?

  1. Record the buyer’s name, contact details, order reference and preferred handover arrangement.
  2. Confirm the order separately from dispatch. Restate the agreed delivery or collection method and the address or meeting point.
  3. Check that your chosen operator accepts the item and that you have the details needed to arrange handover.
  4. Pack the item securely, make the delivery details easy to read and cover any old labels if you reuse packaging.
  5. Update your buyer after the parcel has actually been handed over. Share the tracking or handover reference if one is available.

What should you write in a home-business delivery post?

Make the next step obvious. For example: “To order, send your name, phone number and delivery location. We’ll confirm your order and the agreed handover arrangement separately.” Edit the wording to match the collection or delivery arrangement you actually offer.

When a buyer places an order, repeat the agreed handover details in your confirmation. Don’t call it dispatched until you have handed the parcel to the chosen operator or agreed collection contact.

What should you track for each order?

A simple order log helps you spot what still needs attention. Keep the key details together:

  • Order reference and customer contact
  • Agreed address, meeting point or other handover details
  • Payment status, if relevant to your order
  • Whether the parcel is prepared and whether it has been handed over
  • Any tracking or handover reference

Review outstanding orders regularly. That quick check helps you catch the important difference between “confirmed” and “sent”—before a buyer has to ask where their order is.

Common home-business delivery mistakes to avoid

  • Posting a delivery arrangement that you haven’t agreed or can’t organise.
  • Treating an order confirmation as a dispatch update.
  • Leaving the buyer’s address or handover details unclear.
  • Promising a delivery date before you have a basis for it.
  • Relying on a payment message shown on someone else’s handset instead of checking your own business payment record.
